What 4minit is
Following the news in Mauritius is harder than it should be. It is spread across many sources and largely published in Kreol and French, which leaves anyone who reads mainly in English out of the loop. 4minit exists to fix that: one clear, concise English-language brief every morning, covering the local, regional, and global stories that matter.
What you get
A single short email each morning with the day's most important news, explained plainly, in about four minutes. No endless scroll and no clutter, just what happened and why it matters.
How it's made
4minit does not produce original reporting. It is a daily digest of news already published by established outlets, including Mauritian sources such as Defi Media and L'Express alongside trusted international media. Stories are gathered and summarised with the help of AI, checked for accuracy, and every item links back to its original source so readers can read the full report and verify it. The focus is on the facts, presented clearly and without spin.
Our standards
- Free. No paywall and no advertising in the newsletter.
- Sourced. Every story links to the original report.
- Clear and neutral. We summarise what happened, not what to think.
- Independent. 4minit is an independent publication.
- Corrected. If something is wrong, tell us and we will fix it promptly.
Who it's for
Anyone who wants to stay on top of Mauritius without the noise, and especially expats, international students, and newcomers who want their local news in clear English.
