FCC probes its own staff after a case file turns up on a suspect's phone
The Financial Crimes Commission (FCC), the agency that chases money laundering and financial crime, has opened an internal investigation after one of its own official documents was found on the phone of a suspect in a drug-linked laundering case. The commission says the leak may involve members of its staff.
Investigators' laptops have gone in for a forensic examination to work out how the file travelled. The FCC says no lapse that could dent the integrity of its cases will be tolerated. Whose device leaked, and how, is now the whole question.
Ramgoolam unveils a National Crime Agency bill
PM Ramgoolam announced a bill to create a National Crime Agency, which he called a real revolution in how the country goes after fraud and organised crime, and he tied it to ending the leaks that tip off criminals.

Arrest and a seized 4x4 as the Madagascar boat probe widens
